How I Work

After twelve years experience and over five hundred occasions as a professional photographer, I fully understand that each wedding day has its unique structure. Before the day, I will gain insight into how you want events to unfold so I will be able to manage the timings throughout the day to ensure everything runs smoothly and according to plan. In this way, everyone else - bride, groom, parents, guests and staff working around me - are able to relax and enjoy each and every moment.

I will take about 1,500 photographs during your celebrations, many of which you will not be aware I have taken. The moments that define the spirit of the day may not always be the most obvious ones - a telling glance between sisters, an emotional tear shed by the mother of the bride, a father's pride and joy, the elation of good friends, and a quiet moment shared between newlyweds. All this may be just beyond the circle of celebration.

My hope is to be as unobtrusive as possible, yet I will capture the essence of the day with the same insight and freshness that distinguishes my work as a landscape photographer. I will organise and take all the set photographs you require. I am happy to stage-manage as many formal and group shots, as you would like.

I aim to create a unique record of all the most personal and perfect memories of your day. I want my images of your day to evoke the emotions of the moments I have captured. I implement my own secrets learnt through the years of experience as a professional photographer to anticipate, manage and save those moments to give you life-long enjoyment of your wedding portfolio.

Classic pictures seldom happen by chance; I will set up opportunities for you to create those special moments, which make a portfolio of amazing memories.

This approach has gained me a reputation for delivering distinctive and highly imaginative portfolios wedding photographs that reflect my enjoyment in revealing the story behind the main fairy tale. I aim to present you with a record of treasured memories, capturing the magic of spontaneity.

Before the day

I will meet with you to gain insight into how you want events to unfold on the day which in turn gives me an understanding of the structure and timings throughout the day.

The best photographs are taken when you are relaxed and enjoying yourself we will discuss, for example, the photos you require, how you would like me to conduct myself during the day, timings, the movement of people from church to reception venue and the best places for your photographs.

I am happy to stage-manage as many, or as few, formal and group shots as you would like. My work will document the day and record many unique moments. With my experience I can suggest some ideas so that you don't have think or worry about any of the organisational side of things on the day.

By meeting you beforehand, I hope to give you the confidence to relax and enjoy your day from beginning to end.

On the day

I will be at your wedding not only as a photographer, but also to help in the running of your day. For example, I can liaise with the car people, the ushers, the vicar or the register and the co-coordinator at the venue who in turn, will keep Chef advised as to the exact timings. It is vital to keep Chef happy - after all he is preparing a special meal for all your guests and he wants it to be his best. I will be on-hand to assist the ushers and I will even make sure all button holes are correct and uniform. In other words, I hope to ensure that your day flows without fuss. This way, you can enjoy a glass champagne with your family and friends while I take pictures of happy guests and a relaxed and stress-free bride and groom!

Back at the studio

The pictures are backed up onto two external hard drives then edited and further saved onto a further two external hard drives so effectively they are stored and saved in four different places.

Once edited all images are presented to you on my secure website that will contain a password so that only you and your chosen friends and family can view and purchase images as required.

You will receive the photographs in high resolution on a USB memory stick so you can view and print them yourself at home.

Aftercare and Support

I will be happy to edit your photographs into different formats - for example black and white, sepia, vintage etc. This editing process will continue until you are completely happy with the finished portfolio of images. If you would like to create a high quality album in which to treasure your photographs,

I would be delighted to assist you with selecting, editing and displaying images from your portfolio. Please look at the imaginative and extensive ranges available under "Albums and Design". In the same way. we can create parental albums as gifts for your family members.

You will also have the opportunity to create unique pieces of high quality, bespoke artwork using selected images from your portfolio. Please view ideas under "Creative Products"
