Family portrait section - introduction
I use my innate sense of nature and deep love of Gower to create lasting memories for my clients. By bringing family members together in a location to suit their personalities and lifestyles, they are able to relax and interact in such a way that the photo shoot becomes a family occasion, which I am able to record. In other words, I believe in putting people in the location and allowing the people to be themselves, enabling me to document rather than dictate a natural picture. . For example, the warmth of a sunset can seem like a physical connection between family members. The resulting image often has far more impact than something that was forced or contrived.
My senses are tuned to capture fleeting moments in time and I call upon the same skill to record an instant in nature, for example, as I do when capturing the light in a mother's eyes as she receives a kiss from her son or her daughter. The power of that emotion is immeasurable and being able to capture it in a photograph is the essence of my portrait photography.
